My name is Will Gordon, and I am the founder and the owner of Wye Gardens. Born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, I was brought up with a reverence for the rivers, fields, and forests around me. That uniquely Chesapeake sense of place, from the Piedmont to the Tidewater, inspires me to this day. And as a 13th generation native Shoreman, I guess you could say these places are in my blood.

I started Wye Gardens with the understanding that caring for the Eastern Shore properties is about stewardship—creating and caring for landscapes that only become more beautiful and verdant with each generation. Whether you begin with an empty field or have established gardens, the goal is to create an environment that is naturalistic, timeless, and lovely to the eye—now, and 50 years from now.
